On today’s show, Tyhson is joined again by Courtni Hale, spiritual coach, custom design artist and author. Tyhson shares his own story and they continue their discussion from the last episode of The Wellness Show. Tyhson talks about land trusts and how he was able to create land space that transformed into Eco centers for people to live in harmony with the earth and each other. He shares his story of being part of a youth hostel,tree-planting events, therapeutic horseback riding for children with disabilities and more. This is what Tyhson has done in his past to serve others. Tyhson plans to do special hour-long shows in the New Year and be able to translate those into online courses through the Extraordinary Healing Arts Academy. Courtni is ready and willing to start working with Tyhson teaching natural healing, seed sovereignty, and herbal medicine including vinegars, plant identification and seed saving. Her goal is to create a template Eco center that should work anywhere and to allow others to take advantage of this way of life and service.

Show Notes Courtni Hale is a spiritual coach and custom design artist. She’s also a traditionally- trained medicine person with a federally-recognized ministerial degree and dual bachelor’s from American University. Courtni is the author of “Urban Shaman: Learning.” Courtni’s background comes from a spiritual First Nations’ perspective, as her grandmother was Native American. She was always sensitive and having strange dreams. When Courtni became a mother, she sought out the advice of a medicine man in New Mexico and he put her to work building a sweat lodge in his backyard. He told her that she could never become a shaman because she was culturally white. This man did tell her to learn to live from the Earth, because the common language would be one of nature. She spent the next four years learning how to farm and when she returned to visit, he agreed to train her. Ever since then, Courtni has had the opportunity to learn from the best people in the world about shamanic activism. Courtni has written a novel on consciousness, and she has a painting that goes along with each chapter. The people she painted for actually helped her interpret each message. “Interpreting a dream is like tying a shoe; you need two hands to do it” She says she always dreamed that there were these magical themes and she’s always seen the world in a different way from her family, often feeling isolate and alone growing up. “They expected me grow up to be a lawyer because that’s what (you’re supposed) to do” After 10 years of studying under traditional medicine men, she was allowed to administer plant medicine to others. Courtni also uses drumming, the sweat lodge and discussions about nutrition in her work with others. She now teaches people to use the mind, which she says is a connector, and can accessed through techniques like yoga. This will help with things like PTSD and with environmental toxins. Now that Courtni lives out East, she tends to do more one-on-one coaching with private clients, working on the body, spirit and mind. “The way you experience spirituality is only going to be as good as your neurology” She also does tarot readings and more of the traditional native readings. “I really use whatever I can to help people to get a sense of where they’re at and where they want to go” Courtni envisions a state where dream time and awake time are two of the same, and she shares that she is getting closer to achieving this. Essentially every particle of her body is made up of the sacred lands from New Mexico that she experienced from the 7 years she lived there. Even though she is physically no longer living there, she has brought her paintings and flowers to her new home. “I think I’ll never feel completely at home anywhere but the mountains of New Mexico. In my heart, I’m always there….” She says that it’s very powerful when she can help someone that doesn’t come from shamanism learn to understand it.  Marisa Moody is a registered personal trainer, nutrition coach and owner of FitCity Tours & Travel. She loves motivating people to do more than they think they are capable of, and helping people find the fun in physical activity. She believes that being healthy doesn’t have to be so complicated; simple changes, done consistently, over time can lead to staggering results. Marisa was never an active kid growing up, sharing that she was always the chubbier one in her group of friends. She decided that she wanted to make a change and identified that small consistent changes is where you should start. “I decided to focus on one thing. I didn’t try to do any number of insane and intense things; I just tried running.” Marisa kept herself motivated by making a commitment to herself that she would try it for 30 days, with no expectations and without a negative mindset. She says she also approached it from a point of wanting to be active, as opposed to wanting or needing to lose weight. Marisa’s trick is to start small and build on that only when it becomes a natural part of your routine. You can then keep adding to it from there. “I think people sometimes look too many steps ahead or too big of a project tot tackle and try and do it all at the beginning and unfortunately step themselves up for disaster and falling off the wagon.” She adds that the same strategy can be used with nutrition, and you set yourself up for success by creating specific and manageable goals. Marisa gives two big tips about eating and drinking water. If you have a glass of water beside your bed when you first wake up in the morning, then water will be the first thing you see and the first thing you will drink. This helps avoid just grabbing a glass of juice or making a coffee. When it comes to eating, Marisa says that by putting all your electronics away and focusing on what your eating, you will be able to acknowledge the signs your body is giving you about being full. Marisa says it is ok to make mistakes and that it is not a failure. Everyday is a new day and every meal is a new meal, or a chance to try again. “Tomorrow you have the same opportunity to make a different choice.” To listen on Itunes & subscribe to The Wellness Show click here To listen on Google Play sign into your google account and click here To bookmark RSS feed click here To subscribe to Stitcher click here To watch video interviews and subscribe to the Academy Youtube Channel click here LINKS:  www.CynthiaMazzaferro.com free gifts –http://www.powerfulbeyondmeasurebook.com/hearthomeofhealingmeditation free summit – http://powerfulbeyondmeasuresummit.com/ www.MotivatedMovementPT.com *7 FREE TIPS on what you can do which will drastically change your life www.FitCityTours.com https://www.facebook.com/Motivated-Movement-Personal-Training-184765571578539/?fref=ts https://www.linkedin.com/in/marisamoody

Cynthia Mazzaferro is a Motivational Speaker, #1 Amazon Best-Selling Author, Energy and Intuitive Healer, Reiki Master, and Powerful Beyond Measure Life Coach.   She is a retired Physical Therapist of over 30 plus years and previous owner of an Ergonomic company where she performed work site analysis and spent thousands of hours training and teaching individuals on injury and stress reduction. Cindy's passion is to assist people in their personal growth, health, and purpose. Cynthia talks about why so many people are unhappy in their lives and she says people are always looking for more: more love, more acceptance and more respect. She believes this all stems from a negative impact that we had in our childhood. It’s not about blaming the other person on how they hurt you; it’s about you taking ownership and understanding what is it that I can learn from the situation to grow. Cynthia feels that these events that have happened in the past are more of a blessing than a curse.“When you embrace that you can really grow and fulfill that destiny and what you are supposed to do in this life” She shares that the first step is to identify that this is a repeated pattern that comes as a result of some misinterpretation from when you were a child. When you start to feel that way again, your mind automatically starts to protect you and recognizes this feeling. This is when we have to push through it and be conscious enough to understand that this is a feeling and not reality. “This is my feeling; I have to take ownership of how I feel and the emotions that it produces.” To learn how do manage these limiting beliefs, Cindy uses multiple energetic techniques. One such technique is listening to intuition. “(Intuition) is a way for you to communicate with your soul; your intuition is always trying to communicate.” Being a physical therapist, she has seen many cases of how your physical health relates to your inner health. People have an emotional energetic connection with their inner health. If you were to take a stem cell and change its environment, the cell adapts to the new surroundings. “We know anger is one of the main things they tell you will cause cancer. You can change that biology internally.” Cindy says if you can fix your aliment with 1000 laughs a day or take a pill and be done with it, most people would choose the pill instead of trying to change their own behavior. “Everything will change when you change. You are the catalyst because you’re the one the feels and creates what you actually experience.” To listen on Itunes & subscribe to The Wellness Show click here To listen on Google Play sign into your google account and click here To bookmark RSS feed click here To subscribe to Stitcher click here To watch video interviews and subscribe to the Academy Youtube Channel click here LINKS:  www.CynthiaMazzaferro.com free gifts -http://www.powerfulbeyondmeasurebook.com/hearthomeofhealingmeditation free summit - http://powerfulbeyondmeasuresummit.com/

Jenna Kuhlen is the founder and owner of The Wellness Body & Spa in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Jenna has over 25 years experience helping people find, develop and enhance their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual potential and balance. For Jenna, to be well one has to consider the mind, body and spirit and it’s not what you eat or how you exercise. The three areas have to be worked on together. Having practices to enhance well being shouldn’t be looked at as another task on your list. It should be enjoyable part of your day; a time for you to spend on yourself. “A lot of the times people are becoming so structured (and) we want to control every part of our lives.” Jenna says we have to tap into ourselves and find the joy of what we are doing. If you don’t enjoy going to the gym five days a week, then do something different. She notes that there are markers that can measure how we feel. Some of Jenna’s clients know from measuring their markers that they need to do three things a day to get them to that space that they want to be. This can as simple as having a hot bath, meditation session or exercising, just to be in tune with yourself. One of the biggest concepts that she helps her clients with is not being selfish but being self-full. Do for yourself what is needed to avoid feeling empty inside. Jenna says moms are notorious for not taking that time to be self-full. By also being a personal trainer, Jenna has seen over and over people coming to the gym and saying, “I have to get this workout in, I have to do it for an hour and a half” and when she asks if they enjoy it, most people say, “No”. She advises you allow yourself to do something that makes you smile or laugh; something that gives you an emotional and mental break. “Allow yourself to have the flexibility to do something outside-of-the-box.” Many clients that come to Jenna are stressed and tired or overwhelmed. She says she helps her clients learn to let out their problems. They can do this by talking to a friend, but don’t let the problem or issues fester inside. By doing this, it is easier to reset your mind. Dr. Stephen Hobbs is a grey digital nomad who’s worked on six of seven continents. By day, he guides entrepreneurs and executives to evolve delivery of extraordinary experiences in the words of customers and employees. By night, he co-writes about Awarest - the majestic and magical forest of awareness where Trees Are Educators. The way Stephen does his transition work is through children and trees and so it actually means, “I” (the child) and “T” (the trees). “Trees are going to become the educators around people around learning more about their life and their businesses and where they’re going” He was in Uganda, South Africa working with the children to help plant trees to counter the deforestation that was happening there which resulted in waters coming too quickly. Through this experience, Stephen was also able to work with the children. When he talks about living legacy, it is not something that happens when you die it; is something you live. Stephen says there are four aspects of legacy: your life and how you live it, how you work with other people, and the notion of literacy, which is learning about all the different aspects of ones’ life. Then finally there is a notion of legal legacy, meaning physical property and/or monetary will. “I weave legacy in to all my work when I’m doing my children and trees program.” He shares the difference between experiences and extraordinary experiences. We have good experiences and bad ones, but having extraordinary experiences are much more than that. “Those extraordinary experiences those ones that are so memorable that they shift a way of looking at things, the notion of they give you a really important story to live from.” When it comes to mentoring, Stephen says it is not an age thing. Young people can teach elders; it is all about sharing the experiences and helping people grow. “The beautiful part about mentoring is that it is not age specific, it is about lived experience specific.” To listen on Itunes & subscribe to The Wellness Show click here To listen on Google Play sign into your google account and click here To bookmark RSS feed click here To subscribe to Stitcher click here To watch video interviews and subscribe to the Academy Youtube Channel click here LINKS: www.wellthmovement.com info@wellthlearning.com www.twitter.com/wellthlearning www.facebook.com/wellthmovement https://ca.linkedin.com/in/stephenhobbscalgary www.greatgreenwallinitiative.org

Tonya McLaughlin raises consciousness through love, and her message is one of love that flows through us from divine source; and the acceptance of our scared and divine self. Her gifts are of Intuitive Seeing (mystic) and Healing hands through the love that flows through her heart. Hawaiian Traditional Massage, Reiki, Birthing Support and Transitioning onward from this life are some of the ways in which she serves. “You are the sacred child, I am the sacred child, we are the sacred child, we are the one.” Tonya helps people clear the clouds in their sky, from stress and daily motions; She says to remember you were born free. Remember that there is time enough for everything. Tonya does this by simple meditation, walking in the forest or on a beach, turning off all distractions and breathing in and breathing out. “As you are breathing remember what you are breathing in has touched everything around you, it is a part of everything, that divine light, you are breathing the connection of who you are within.” She shares that when breathing out, let it all go, do not analyze it, and just let go of everything that is not serving you. Tonya also helps with the birthing process, not only with the birthing of babies but the birthing of people who have forgotten their way or who have forgotten their story. She also does moon time work and notes how important this is for a women and the coming of age process. Moon work does not stop when a women is past the child bearing age, as they still follow the cycles of the moon. “In fact our energy becomes stronger when we gently assist each other through the transition, as it were called the change of life.” Men are also involved in the moon cycle. Tonya says she helps men connect with the sacred part of themselves: connecting to the sacred feminine, surrendering and letting go.
